Hip Leicester bar Hotel Maiyango hosted a packed Out of Africa-themed evening for networking group the LYP.
The event, which helped mark the 2010 World Cup, was kicked off with an African cocktail - or Tusker – before participants got down to some serious bongo drumming with special guest Lotus Exchange, which provided the evening’s entertainment.
Plenty of members tried to prove they were the rhythm kings, but Olufemi Folorunso, of Mattioli Woods, clinched top spot after being nominated best drummer of the night, while Ed Hamblin, of Cooper Parry, won accolade as star and good spirit on the night. Both were handed a bottle of fine Italian wine. Olufemi also scooped the prize draw, winning a Cocktail Masterclass for two at Maiyango.
LYP president Kate Godber, a solicitor with Leicester law firm Harvey Ingram, says: “There was a fantastic atmosphere on the night and the noise inside the venue was incredible. We had a great turnout with plenty of enthusiastic participants. It was a superb evening and among the best events the LYP has organised.”
