Our mission

Levenshulme Youth Project was established in 2011 to provide a programme of Play and Youth activities for young people living in Levenshulme and surrounding wards of manchester. It was successful in gaining a commissioning contract from Manchester City Council in 2004. We have gone on to provide quality Youth & Play provision to young people aged 8 -18 yrs to the present day. The project was awarded be Proud awards in 2016 and shortlisted for  a TPAS award in 2015

We also working towards the Ambition Quality Standard

Our work involves sessional work, day trips and residentials. This creates the opportunity to deliver a mix of adventure, education and fun and help the young people increase participation, develop life skills, increase self - esteem and develop social skills, the biggest challenge is proving that outdoor activities are safer than the media sometimes portrays.

Through the provision of a locally run and managed Youth and Play facility our aims are:

  • To help educate children and young people through their leisure time activities so as to develop their self -confidence, self- esteem and their mental and emotional capabilities.
  • To help children and young people to grow to maturity as individuals and members of society.
  • To help to improve their life chances.
  • To provide a wide range of information, help and support on issues affecting children and young people as determined by themselves, their families, friends and youth / play workers.
